Product: "Grout Easy"

(a case = 4 gallons)
Grout Release

What "Grout Easy" does:

. It is a true, non-sealer, grout release. A temporary water soluble coating that keeps the grout cement paste from sticking to the surface texture.
. It eliminates the need for acid cleanup.
. It is part of normal grout clean off with water and a sponge.
. It saves time and money for any size project.
. Used by DIY and professional installers.

Why would you want to use "Grout Easy"?:

You want to use "Grout Easy" if:

. Your small test area shows grout residue will be trapped on the face.

. You are installing limestone, marble or a cement product and cannot use acid for cleanup because of etching risk.

. Muriatic Acid can penetrate down into the surfacing and dry out. The dry crystals over years of contact with the moisture in the air will slowly release undetectable vapor. In a house, this vapor will over time create rust on metal household fixtures. And that can cost the loss of thousands of dollars worth of fixtures. "Grout Easy" eliminates the need for acid clean up.

. You don't want to have to do all those multiple cleanups that are the usual installation. There always seems to be a little cement scum that requires more attention.

. You are a contractor and realize that the efficiency of using "Grout Easy" lowers your bid price.

. You are aware of the problems that are caused by pre-sealing (applying a sealer before grouting.)

Did you start the installation with "Grout Easy"? If not, you probably need to remove some hardened grout smears with: "Grout Residue Remover"

Do not "pre-seal" - apply a sealer before grouting.
Do not use any sealer as a grout release barrier (pre-sealing). This technique creates many risk factors to be avoided. Prevent grout smears, surface scratching and keep grout residue out of surface texture by coating with Aldon Grout Easy before grouting. Grout Easy is a water soluble coating that comes off easily while grout is being cleaned off in the normal process with water and a sponge.

How does "Grout Easy" work?
Grout Easy is a thicker than water liquid that is viscous, but pourable.

"Grout Easy" makes a water soluble temporary coating on the face. Then follows the normal grout installation and the grout particles stick to the "Grout Easy" coating instead of the material face. The normal water and sponge cleanup process turns the "Grout Easy" coating liquid again so it is removed along with the grout. Now, the surface does not have any sealer or other things in the way of the most important step of sealer application - the first one.

Grout installation is with the normal float "spread and pack" grouting process (or with a grout bag) and cleanup.

Drips of "Grout Easy" over the edge do not act as a permanent "bond breaker" between the grout and the tile/stone edge. "Grout Easy" actually begins to increase bonding of grout to tile after approximately 8 hours. This is why the label says to remove the grout excess and "Grout Easy" coating as soon as possible after grouting. It is best to begin grouting as soon as the "Grout Easy" coating is dry (approx. 30 minutes). However, if an area isn't grouted until a few hours later for some reason, the "Grout Easy" coating is still water soluble and will function properly.

Provides a better grouting system with a material cost less than using sealers as a "bond breaker".

Removes the risk of grout separation from the tile edge. This can occur when a "pre-seal" sealer application inevitably drips over the edge of the tile and becomes a permanent "bond breaker".

There are some of the light beige/peach tone terracotta tile that will stain so easily that a water drop leaves a permanent mark. This has not been observed with the Mexican terracottas, but has been seen with a very few imports from other countries. Before using "Grout Easy" on a surface that stains this easily, test first.

Concerned about Doing It Yourself or what your contractor says?
If you are concerned about doing it yourself - consider that the satisfaction of a project is directly related to YOUR knowledge of what needs to be done and how. Who actually does the work is less important. We estimate that 50% of the usage of Aldon products is by "do it yourself" homeowners and we know they are happy because we hear from them.

Our goal for our contractor customers - NO CALL BACKS. A good contractor will understand the logic of Aldon application instructions on the labels and will not take shortcuts. If a contractor does not agree, feel free to let us find out what is so unusual about this particular project so the contractor does not have to return.

Health & Safety:
When you read all the health and safety warnings on a label, you will see we have done our best to make you think about working with any chemicals from any manufacturer. Even household cleaners purchased in supermarkets (many with more hazardous ingredients than we use because they are less expensive for the manufacturer) should be used with common sense and awareness. People have been injured by not knowing you can create poisonous gases by mixing chlorine bleach with some cleaning products. One of the many criteria involved in Aldon products is that all our products will be used with any other of our products and no normal combination of usage events should be hazardous. Nevertheless, use common sense and don't be in a hurry. Let each step prove itself satisfactorily before proceeding to the next.

Some people are allergic or sensitive to some chemicals, especially petroleum solvents. In that case, evaluate our water based products. With the solvent type products, immediately as applied use proper cross ventilation fans blowing across the floor and out the doors and windows. Do not use any chemical products from any manufacturer in a house with the sick, elderly, pets, babies, or other concerns.

For Large Commercial Projects:
When large commercial installations of thin-brick veneer are grouted, whether by grout pump, grout bag, or spread and pack, the cleanup time is so greatly reduced by using "Grout Easy", that it actually makes a difference to the contractors bid price.
